John Denver is a popular performer and songwriter that has touched a multitude of people through his songs. A lot of them are based on Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and settled down in Aspen. Denver's famous songs about his home state encouraged many to move to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated in his report that John Denver was the best musician to ever capture Colorado. Denver was the first Hall of Fame ever inductee. Denver is a symbol of the state across the globe. Certainly in my travels you encounter someone on the other continent, a person who is from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the first thing you hear is"Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was the top solo hit after appearing with small folk bands. The song was written and recorded by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear the song's early versions and was aware that it would eventually become a Top 10 hit. The song was performed on stage in Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver made a recording a few days later.
