Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in the style that is his own. She has performed on Broadway as well as during the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine's given name is Denise White. Her birthplace is Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by playing the piano and singing in the church. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta at Spellman College. The Fighting Temptations The single which featured her vocals"Stalk You A House 12, came out only in Japan. The song has been remixed numerous times and is the mainstay of her live show. Her voice has also been a part of vocals on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She became the primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) offered her a position as director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention during four daily shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during the Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
