Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a performer that was born in Newark, New Jersey on the 9th of August 1963. Her parents are gospel singers Cissy Houston(n e Emily Lee Drinkard), and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick is also a singer. As a young girl, Houston began singing professionally with her church's choir. Houston sang the backing vocals for Chaka Khosn's single from 1978 Im Every Woman with her mom. The singer went on to sing backing vocals for Lou Rawls Jermaine Jackson and her own mother and was briefly models on the cover of Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. The high quality of her performance as the vocalist featured in New York funk group Material was noticed by major record companies including Arista who she signed her contract in 1982, where she was with them for the rest of her life. In 1985, Whitney Houston's first album became the top-selling debut album ever. It featured a number of hits such as How Will I Know You Give Good Love, Saving All My Love For you and The Greatest Love of All. It helped her achieve seven US chart-topping songs in succession, a feat that was more than the Beatles. It sold three million copies the first year and 25 million globally. The album won her first six Grammy Awards. The Whitney album released in 1987 that featured songs like that I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Where Do Broken Hearts Get to and continued to be a huge success. However, it came with The Bodyguard of 1992 that turned her into one of the biggest-selling artists in history. The movie and her role as a character was not popular, however the soundtrack and her rendition of the song by Dolly Parton I Will Always Love You charted for several months in the charts, and she sold more than 44 million singles and albums worldwide. The same year that she had her daughter Bobbi Brown, she got married to Bobby Brown of the ex-New Edition group. At this point when her well-documented drug use began and by 1996, she was a regular drug user.

Dana Bash, also known by the name Dana Ruth Schwartz, is an American anchorwoman and journalist. She is a correspondent for politics at CNN. Her previous work included NBC, CBS and other prestigious channels. Her productions include certain shows on CNN's weekends including Evans & Novak Late Edition and Inside Politics.
